The Group, headed up by CEO Roy Bagattini, oversees two main trading brands: Woolworths South Africa operating across 13 countries in sub-Saharan Africa; and WHL Australasia which includes David Jones based and trading in Australia and New Zealand, and Country Road Group based in Australia and trading in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
WHL is diversified in both geography and category. The businesses provide trusted, high-quality, and predominantly private label brands that leverage their intellectual property and innovation capabilities which have been built over decades.
Woolworths South Africa offers products with selected fashion, beauty, homeware, and food and alcohol ranges. Financial services are provided through Woolworths Financial Services, a joint venture between Woolworths Holdings Group Ltd and ABSA Group Ltd, with ABSA owning a 50% share. The Financial Services board is constituted by directors from both the Woolworths Holdings Ltd and ABSA Group Ltd, with direction on credit policy, risk, and funding aspects received from ABSA and direction on customer integration from the Woolworths Holdings Ltd
