Kantar BrandZ Top 30 Most Valuable South African Brands 2022 special awards recognised Clicks as the top brand for both “Experience”, which relates to the superior experience it offers across all touchpoints and “Function”, that relates to its range of well-designed products and services.

The biggest enabler of this achievement seems to be the consistency in Clicks’ strategy which is centred around the shopper’s most prominent needs: value and convenience. In addition to this, the differentiation created with the wide ranges of products and expanding services ensures that Clicks reaches a wide audience of shoppers from various income groups, with value prioritised as a key consideration.

From an experience perspective, Clicks has made significant progress in expanding its service offerings. For example:

  • The pandemic inspired Clicks to repurpose its clinics and pharmacies to support the nationwide vaccination drive, achieving the position of largest private sector vaccination provider in South Africa
  • Answering shoppers’ needs for convenience, Clicks expanded its strategy and offering around online ordering and delivery 
  • Within pharmacies, the queue management system as well as the introduction of smart lockers support the shopper in terms of efficiency in collecting healthcare products 
  • Establishing seamless digital engagement through the Clicks app and WhatsApp has supported ClubCard signups and being the only health and beauty player on the VodaPay Super App gives Clicks a big advantage 
  • The way it is repositioning beauty through a store-within-a-store enables an experiential offering, creating theatrics in beauty
