Why Invest

Boxer Stores also made a donation of a 100-litre JoJo tank to a local crèche, as well as ensured that each person left with a free loaf of bread.
HILLCREST High School’s Wild at Heart team collected nearly 5 000 litres of water, which was redistributed to those in need in the Mtubatuba area.
The project enjoyed support from many parents and pupils, particularly teachers, Jenny Steytler who coordinated the collection and Janet Legemaate, who was active in liaising with different people and the pupils and members of Wild at Heart, who assisted.
The Wild at Heart team, led by Jenny Steytler, was delighted to see that all their effort in this recent water collection drive had paid off.
In a joint effort with Boxer Stores, the drop-off took place on Thursday, 21 April in KwaNkombose traditional area, Mtubatuba in northern KZN.
The local induna, Mr Mkhwanazi, kindly allowed the use of the local community hall, where approximately 400 people came to fetch water. As readers may be aware, the drought is still a serious issue in these regions. KwaNkombose in particular is very dry and according to locals, there is no water.
Apparently a five-litre bottle of water sells for R20. It is not difficult to believe then that in an area where people have no access to water and no money to pay for water on sale, residents came rushing in, desperate to collect free water.
Boxer Stores also made a donation of a 100-litre JoJo tank to a local crèche as the area is not supported by a government grant, as well as ensured that each person left with a free loaf of bread.
Hillcrest High School was grateful to help the KwaNkombose community in this small way and it brought home, all too starkly, just how precious a resource water is; in the words of Thomas Fuller: “We never know the worth of water until the well is dry.”
