Unitrade Management Services (UMS) is a voluntary trading organisation that was established in 2001 providing a unique and comprehensive business solution to independent wholesalers and retailers in South and Southern Africa.
UMS describes its business model as one that offers the benefits of a total franchise offer, including a comprehensive range of products and services, but without the associated costs. UMS members trade under the brand names Powertrade (wholesale and hybrid outlets), Food Town (hybrid and retail outlets), Best Buy (hybrid and retail stores), Price Rite (distribution model / wholesale outlets) or under their own brand, as UMS Trading Partners.
